Worship Experience

I grew up in a christian family, every night before we go to bed we used to have our family devotion and ends up with a prayer request. We pray for our family, relatives, loved ones and friends. Each has to pray audibly and I have seen the hand of God is clearly at work.

I enjoyed most of my time in church – especially with the company I had with my church mates whom I considered my family as well. Basically, I’m not an outgoing type of person. To be honest, I don’t quite enjoy my life in school or in any place. It’s just that… I don’t feel very much comfortable with the people around me – too many conflicts, misunderstandings, distractions and worldly stuffs. In short, I find joy being alone with God’s presence.

Of all the places I’ve been through aside from home… the church played an important role in my heart – so quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The perfect place to meditate and enhance my spiritual growth in Christ! I have this feeling of joy, peace in my heart and excitement rushing through my bones that I can’t really explain. Truly, God is my strength and my salvation, He is my God and I will praise Him. He deserves to be given glory, honor and praise.

Retreat Reflections

“Live a life of love” was the theme for this year’s retreat and I really was excited being part of that event. I had so many expectations, hopes and questions were raised in my mind that was somehow answered.

I loved the ambience; the freshness of air, the landscape, the peacefulness… away from civilization – an ideal spot to internalize and meditate the relationship we have with our Creator.

The evening activity was the most touching part of the program. I never expected seeing my classmates to burst out and put their armors down. Everyone became very transparent during that night. Sharing our life stories, the joys, heartaches and burdens we’ve been through. After that, we were able to understand one another and became more compassionate to one’s feeling that would lead us to be more mature spiritually, mentally and socially.

Life Verse

“Everything on earth has it’s own time and season” – Ecclesiastes 3:1, that’s the verse I keep on meditating in mind when I am stressed out and disappointed.

The first time I read this verse, it made a great impact in my life that truly captivated my heart. It is true that in this life, there will be times where we will be deceived by the lies of this world. It will always be a constant battle until you end up with the decision of fully surrendering it to God's ways and plans.

Never worry of the things around you for our God is a great God! He has a marvelous plan and a good future instore for us. It doesn’t matter how big your problems are, just leave it all to Him. He has blessed others through different ways and surely He will do the same to any of us if we BELIEVE - strengthen our faith and view our problems as a challenge towards our way to success. Everything happens for a purpose.  “Everything on earth has it’s own time and season”, we may not have the same timelines; success and failures may come and go but I rest assured, there is a God who will provide all our needs according to His perfect way and time. Never loose hope and be discouraged for the Lord said; “He will never leave you nor forsake thee.” Just like His promised to Joshua to be courageous - For the battle is not ours, it belongs to God.
When life brings changes in our circumstances and obligations, we must responsibly and wisely discern what kind of commitments we should make, seeking in whatever we do to “do all to the glory of God” (1 Cor. 10:31). Proverbs 3:6 promises that as we acknowledge Him in all our ways, He will guide us in the way we should go.
